Toyota will launch three blockbuster new cars in March, and according to official sources, Liling E+, Carola E+ and Asian Dragon will all go on sale in March, which will enrich Toyota's layout of medium-sized cars and new energy products in China.

FAW Toyota Corolla double engine E+ and Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Leiling double engine E+ are Toyota's first "real" new energy vehicles in China. Based on the plug-in hybrid version of gas-electric hybrid models, the new car is exclusive to the Chinese market and can enter the new energy vehicle catalogue, hang new energy vehicle license plates, and enjoy new energy subsidy policies.

In terms of power, both cars are equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of 1.8L naturally aspirated engine, double motors and battery packs, in which the maximum power of the engine is 99 horsepower and the maximum torque is 142Nm; the maximum power of the motor is 72hp and the maximum torque is 207Nm. At the same time, it matches the E-CVT CVT in transmission. As a plug-in hybrid, the car has a mileage of 55km in pure electric mode.

To some extent, these two cars are based on the product of the policy and can be included in the catalogue of new energy vehicles. However, the new generation of Carola / Leiling will be officially launched in the middle of the year, and these two cars do look awkward.

FAW Toyota Asia Dragon, a medium-sized sedan, will launch two power models, 2.5L gasoline version and dual-engine version, on March 21, with an official pre-price of 23.98 yuan to 289800 yuan, while the price of the lowest-equipped model has not yet been announced and is likely to be as low as 210000 yuan.

It is worth noting that the price of the Asian Dragon Twin engine version is even lower than that of the Camry Twin engine.

As the flagship car of Toyota TNGA in Chinese market, FAW Toyota Asia Dragon adopts the latest family design language, the domestic version is consistent with the overseas version, and the exaggerated intake grille is domineering. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the new car are 4975/1850/1450mm and the wheelbase is 2870mm.

In terms of power, the Asian Dragon provides 2.5L naturally aspirated and 2.5L hybrid power, which is expected to be the same as the Guangzhou Automobile Toyota Camry, with a maximum power of 209hp and 218hp respectively, of which the 2.5L model matches an 8-block self-integrated gearbox with economic, ordinary and sports driving modes to choose from, while the hybrid model matches the E-CVT gearbox dedicated to the hybrid system.

In addition, the new RAV4 Rongfang, the replacement of Carola / Leiling, the import of Wilfa Shuangqi, the new electric car will also be launched this year. Toyota plans to sell 1.6 million vehicles in China in 2019, up 8 per cent from the 1.4745 million sold in 2018.
