According to foreign media reports, Aston Martin plans to stop production of the Rapide, a four-door sports coupe under the Rapide. In the future, DBX and Lagonda will take over, while the pure electric version of RapideE will be replaced by the pure electric version of Lagonda, so Aston Martin will completely withdraw the four-door sports car from the market.

Influenced by the launch of SUV models by many ultra-luxury brands, minority Aston Martin also plans to further enrich its product range.

The DBX model, as the first SUV under Aston Martin, will be launched in China at the end of 2019 and will be launched simultaneously in both Chinese and overseas markets. Earlier, officials have released official drawings of the DBX test prototype, with Aston Martin's classic family-style forward grille on the front face, and its headlight shape is very unique, similar to the design of the two-door GT body and the high chassis clearance, giving people a strong cross-boundary style.

According to the current news, the Aston Martin DBX will be designed with the same aluminum alloy modular chassis as the DB11 model, and is expected to carry 5.2L V12 twin turbines and 4.0L V8 twin turbine engines with maximum power of 608hp and 510hp respectively.

And its Lagonda is launched as the first pure electric SUV model, which focuses on luxury. The new car, which will be launched in 2021, carries solid-state batteries and L4 self-driving, shares technology with Aston Martin DBX and has a range of about 400km.

Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said that in the future, they will use different names for traditional fuel cars and streetcars. If they belong to the Aston Martin brand, it will be a fuel engine or system model, but if it belongs to the Lagonda brand, it must be pure electric drive.

Aston Martin, a luxury brand, discontinued production of the four-door sports car, placing its competition on the good SUV, and Lagonda will compete with Rolls-Royce's Curinan and Bentley's Tim Yue as luxury models.
