AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)06/30 Report--

According to statistics, in the first half of this year, China implemented a total of 84 automotive product recalls, involving nearly 2.76 million vehicles. Among them, the total number of German cars recalled exceeded 1.83 million, accounting for more than 60%. Due to the nine recalls of "Takata airbags", more than 670000 vehicles were involved, a decrease of more than 40% compared with the same period last year.

According to public information, the automobile recall system has been implemented in China since 2004. by the end of 2018, there were a total of 1768 vehicle recalls, involving 69.25 million defective vehicles, and the total direct costs invested by automobile product producers as a result of the recall totaled about 52.9 billion yuan. a cumulative loss of 52 billion yuan was recovered to consumers.

According to the data, in the first half of the past three years, there were 69,143,109 vehicle recalls and nearly 6 million, 4.76 million and 4.86 million defective car recalls, respectively. In the first half of this year, although the number of recalls dropped significantly compared with the same period of the previous three years, the number of recalls still exceeded that of 2016, with an average of one recall every 2.1 days. It is not difficult to see that the implementation of the recall policy has become a regular activity of car companies.

According to the car department, German has become the "hardest hit area" of the car recall. Of the 84 recall announcements, 30 were German cars, involving 183.35 defective vehicles, accounting for 66.44%, of which BMW recalled 830800 vehicles, accounting for 45.31%. Mercedes-Benz recalled 72.05 vehicles, accounting for 39.30%.

According to the reason, Takata airbag problem is the main cause. As of June 28, 674200 vehicles were recalled due to Takata airbag problems, including BMW, Toyota, Tesla, Subaru, Ferrari and other car companies. Of these, 360000 cars were recalled by BMW and 191500 by Toyota, while Takata airbag problems will be postponed until the end of 2019 due to excessive production and farting recalls by several manufacturers, according to reports.

Although investigated by the State Municipal Administration, the number of recalls accounted for only 16.67% of the total recalls, but 841000 defective vehicles were involved, accounting for 30.48% of the total number of recalls.

Among them, Mercedes-Benz recalled 616000 vehicles. In addition to the recall of more than 570000 vehicles mentioned above, another recall notice issued by Mercedes-Benz on the same day showed that when the tires of the vehicles in the recall area were impacted by large external forces during driving, they would produce drum bags or tire pressure loss due to damage, taking into account that the vehicles were equipped with low-pressure continuous running tires, the above situation has safety risks under some extreme conditions. The recall report is referred to by the industry as "front foot offline, rear foot recall" because it relates to cars produced in May 2019.

After a spontaneous combustion on February 3, Shanghai Lai Motor decided to recall a total of 4803 Lulai ES8 electric vehicles with power battery packs made between April 2, 2018 and October 19, 2018.

It is understood that the power battery pack used by vehicles within the recall range is equipped with a module of specification and model NEV-P50, and the voltage sampling harness in the module may be extruded by the cover plate of the module, resulting in wear and tear of the insulating material on the skin of the extruded voltage sampling harness. In extreme cases, it may cause burning of the wire harness insulation layer, resulting in thermal runaway and fire of the battery package, and there are hidden dangers.

More than 40 new energy vehicles caught fire in 2018, recalling 121400 defective vehicles involving 33 models, mainly due to electrical control, mechanical, electrical and battery system failures, according to the State Administration of Market Supervision.

In recent years, the new energy vehicle industry in China has developed rapidly, and the number of new energy vehicles in the country has exceeded 2.6 million, but the safety problems of new energy vehicles occur frequently and have attracted much attention. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the State Municipal Administration have also issued notices many times, demanding that they attach great importance to it, take safe and effective measures to build a comprehensive safety guarantee system, and at the same time investigate and report vehicle accidents to effectively protect the personal and property safety of consumers.
