A total of 37399 electric vehicles were sold in Europe in May, up 28% from the same period last year, according to European electric car sales figures released by EV Sales.

Of these, nearly 2/3 (63 per cent) are pure electric vehicles, about 24000. Overall market share rose to 2.6% this month and 2.9% in the first five months of 2019 (more than 201000 vehicles registered).

Renault's Zoe continues to retain its title as Germany's top seller of electric cars in April, with 4106 units sold. Still surpassed Tesla's Model 3. However, Renault Zoe sales from January to May (19398 vehicles) is still lower than Tesla Model 3 (26176 vehicles) in second place, but according to this sales performance, Renault Zoe is expected to surpass Tesla Model 3. In May, special envoy La Model 3 sales remained sluggish, with monthly sales even lower than those of Mitsubishi Orlander PHEV and BMW I3. Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV also sold well, rising to the top three from fourth place last month, with sales of 3286 vehicles. Tesla's market share of Model 3 rose slightly by 1 per cent.

In fourth place is Nissan Leaf, which rose to fourth place from 10th place last month, with monthly sales of 1,723, while BMW I3 fell to fifth place from third place last month, with 2718 vehicles sold in a single month. Nissan leaf and Nissan leaf account for 7% of the market.

Volkswagen e-Golf (1993) and Hyundai Kona EV (1700) performed relatively steadily and remained in the same position in May. Porsche Panamera PHEV, however, did not appear in the top 20.

Germany, as a big automobile country, the competitive market is also very fierce. Although Tesla Model 3 remains at the top of the sales list in the first five months, if the sales growth rate of Renault Zoe is higher than that of Tesla Model 3, it is just around the corner.
