In 2013, BAIC announced the launch of the first model of its subsidiary Saab, whose core technology comes from acquired Saab intellectual property, which is based on the first generation of Saab 9-5 platform, including its engine and transmission technology.

On June 13, 2011, the huge Group signed a Memorandum of understanding with Saab, Spyker and Youth Lotus Motors on cooperation matters, and the Quartet will, subject to relevant approval, set up a joint venture sales company, a joint venture manufacturing company and invest abroad.

In the end, Saab ended its joint venture with Big Group and Youth Motor, and in December 2011, Saab filed for bankruptcy.

In 2012, Guoneng Electric vehicle Co., Ltd. acquired Saab, including Saab's new 9-3, all intellectual property rights, tooling, factories and test and test equipment.

On January 15, 2019, Evergrande Group successfully acquired a 51% stake in NEVS, an electric vehicle company, for $930 million and won a majority of board seats. So, after the dispute between Evergrande and Jia Yueting FF91, Evergrande realized its ideal of building its own car in such a way.

On June 29, 2019, Evergrande's first production model, Hengda Neng 93, was officially off the line. Guoneng 93 is positioned as a pure electric car, based on Saab 9-3 models, combining Saab technology and current new energy technology, which means that its domestic production line also has the capacity of mass production.

Saab's assets are not of high quality, because its platform technology is 20 years ago, but it can still be bought by big domestic companies such as BAIC, Youth Automobile and Evergrande, which means it must have something to admire.

BAIC used Saab to launch Saab, and BAIC has since gained an independent brand. Evergrande Group used Saab to enter the automobile industry and realized the transformation of the group. As a result, Saab was reborn in another way.
