AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/01 Report--

For a long time, low-speed electric vehicles have become a major safety hazard on the road, which is also known as "elderly walkers". They are stylish in appearance, but there are great hidden dangers due to lack of supervision and different production standards. The elderly scooter has no license plate, no insurance, poor safety and protection. Drivers can drive on the road even if they do not have a driver's license, but there are some chaotic phenomena that do not abide by the traffic rules after they hit the road, resulting in frequent accidents.

The existence and hidden dangers of the elderly scooter have been reported and concerned by CCTV. In the CCTV program, it reported a recent traffic accident of an elderly scooter in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, in which 11 people were injured in varying degrees due to improper operation of the driver. It is understood that long, the driver of the electric four-wheeler who caused the accident, 65 years old, lost control and crashed into the crowd due to improper operation at the start of the vehicle.

Subsequently, CCTV also visited the manufacturing plant of low-speed electric cars in Dezhou, Shandong Province, and found that the car was built with a shed, and there was no safety crash test.

At a low-speed electric car manufacturer in Wucheng County, Dezhou City, workers are assembling electric cars by hand. A sales manager said that the vehicle is currently in the commissioning stage, if there is an order, they can be mass produced at any time.

A manufacturer of low-speed four-wheeled electric vehicles in Wucheng County, Dezhou, Shandong Province: the motors in the electric vehicles are all the same, but the shell is different, and the shell can be imitated.

The report also shows that some manufacturers sell cars in front of a front house and start building cars with a shed behind them. The thickness of the iron sheet used to wrap the car body is no more than 2 mm.

The staff of the manufacturer also said: there is no safety test, no collision test.

These "elderly walkers", which way should they go? What card should I hang? Should the driver be qualified to drive? At present, there are no clear local or national standards. It was originally a substitute for the elderly to travel, but it has become a wayward "road killer". So who should be in charge? How do you manage it? This is a problem that we urgently need to solve.

Shandong is a major manufacturer of low-speed electric vehicles, and in December last year, the Shandong provincial government issued opinions on strengthening the management of low-speed electric vehicles, pointing out that the phase-out of low-speed electric vehicles should be accelerated. The management opinion points out that a three-year transition period should be set to encourage the accelerated phase-out of low-speed electric vehicles in use by means of replacement, repurchase, scrapping, etc.; new production capacity of low-speed electric vehicles is strictly prohibited; new models of low-speed electric vehicles are stopped; clean-up and rectification of low-speed electric vehicle production enterprises are carried out.

However, now the vulgar electric cars, which are running rampant and unqualified on the road, really need to be rectified.
