From relevant media reports, positioning electric coupe BMW i4 part of the information was exposed by foreign media. The new car will be built on the CLAR platform, positioned as a four-door coupe, and will be available in single-motor and dual-motor versions with a maximum range of 350 miles (560 kilometers), with major competitors locking in Tesla Model 3.

Compared to BMW i8 and i4 design, BMW i4 looks more in line with the actual needs of the user car. The front face of the new car features a connected kidney-shaped grille, while the rear body inherits the elegant and sexy streamlined shape of the BMW 4 Series.

However, from the previously exposed i4-way test spy photos, it is closer to the 4-series Gran Coupe currently on sale, and there is no such sci-fi feeling as the imaginary picture.

From the spy photos, the new car will adopt BMW's latest family-oriented interior design language, equipped with 12.3-inch full LCD instruments and 10.25-inch central control screen, and the three-spoke steering wheel and "chicken legs" that feel quite good will be retained.

The BMW i4 will not have a separate electric vehicle platform, but will be based on a new generation of 3 Series (G20) and 4 Series born from BMW's CLAR platform. The i4 uses all-wheel drive, equipped with an electric motor on each front and rear axle, and will have a maximum range of 560km. The acceleration time from 0 to 100km/h will be around 4 seconds. The new car may also offer a single-motor entry-level model, further lowering the barrier to purchase.

BMW's first all-electric car, the BMW i3, has been on the market for six years. With the wave of new energy vehicles coming, BMW has finally increased its investment in pure electric cars. Earlier, BMW announced that it would achieve the layout of 25 new energy models by 2023, two years ahead of schedule; more than half of these 25 new energy models will be pure electric vehicles.
