AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/02 Report--

With the integration of the tide of new energy vehicles, nearly 100 new car-building forces have been born in China, and traditional car factories have also accelerated their layout in the direction of new energy. With the support of policies, the new energy vehicle market is beginning to take shape. However, a series of spontaneous combustion and explosion accidents have pushed the safety and stability of new energy vehicle batteries to the tuyere of public opinion. ES8 recalled a total of 4803 vehicles due to battery package safety problems, according to a recall notice issued by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration of Xilai Automobile on June 27. So that the quality of electric vehicles has attracted the attention of the industry.

In this regard, we learned that in the content released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the standardization of new energy vehicles in 2019 was taken as the key point of the work. This year, three mandatory national standards for electric vehicles will also be issued, including "safety requirements for electric vehicles", "safety requirements for power batteries for electric vehicles" and "safety requirements for electric buses".

One person directly involved in the formulation of the mandatory national standards said that after the promulgation, they will replace the previous recommended standards as the basic requirements for approval and access of electric vehicles in China, which is also a phased achievement of the development of China's electric vehicle industry.

Moreover, the mandatory national standard is only the basic entry threshold for electric vehicles, not the absolute safety guarantee. "meeting mandatory standards cannot be equated with vehicle life cycle safety."

The above-mentioned people stressed that mandatory standards are absolutely necessary, but in addition, the safety of electric vehicles also involves many links such as design, production, use and maintenance, and only by strengthening prevention in these links can a complete safety system be formed.

It is also mentioned that China's mandatory standards for electric vehicles are divided into three parts, including vehicles, batteries and electric buses. And the three standards to be issued are more stringent than international standards, raising the requirements for safety indicators such as vehicle waterproofing and battery package vibration.

However, the release of the standard should not have a great impact on current enterprises and products, because the new standard is only revised on the basis of the original recommended standard, 80% of which is still the original standard; secondly, the new standard is formulated with the participation of the whole industry, and has also passed extensive and strict publicity and solicitation of opinions.
