Herbert Dis, chairman of Volkswagen, said that Volkswagen will launch about 70 new electric models worldwide by 2028 at the 2019 World New Energy vehicle Congress, which was held in Boao, Hainan, from July 1 to 3. At the same time, 22 million pure electric vehicles are planned to be delivered worldwide, more than half of which will come from China.

At present, Volkswagen Group's passenger car brands account for 1% of global carbon emissions. In this regard, Volkswagen has also formulated a comprehensive decarbonization plan. Mr Deiss stressed: by 2050, we will be carbon neutral throughout the group.

Volkswagen's decarbonization plan covers all aspects, not only the team, but also the group's overall carbon footprint, and achieving this goal requires the joint efforts of all markets around the world. Deiss believes that China's role in this work is crucial, and the Chinese team of Volkswagen Group is working on a detailed plan, which will be released later this year.

At the product level, electrification will become the main direction for Volkswagen Group to achieve carbon emission reduction. Electric vehicles use renewable resources and are the most direct way to reduce carbon dioxide. Although China's total carbon emissions increased in 2018, carbon dioxide emissions of GDP fell by 4% compared with the same period last year. In order to truly achieve zero-carbon emission travel, Volkswagen Group will seize the opportunity to firmly develop pure electric-driven electric travel mode.

With regard to the policy of new energy vehicles, various cities have taken various incentive measures to support the development of electric vehicles. Volkswagen Group will abide by all policies and regulations and launch the most far-sighted electric vehicle offensive in the industry in accordance with the group's electric travel strategy.

As for future product planning, Mr Deiss said: by 2028, we will launch about 70 new electric models worldwide. At the same time, we plan to deliver 22 million pure electric vehicles worldwide, more than half of which will come from China. By the end of this year, Volkswagen will launch 14 new energy vehicles, including Bora Pure Electric, Golf Pure Electric, Longyi Electric, Maiteng GTE, Audi Q2L e-tron and Audi e-tron.

Deiss said it was pushing ahead with a full-scale electrification offensive, with Volkswagen Group setting up CAMS, a new energy vehicle charging joint venture in China. The company will provide private wall-mounted charging wall boxes and an extensive network of public charging stations that can cover the vehicle's 400-kilometer mileage in 15 minutes.

The wholly-owned subsidiary Yijia Intelligent will build an ecosystem of interconnection and mobile travel, and provide interconnected charging services. The location of the nearby charging post can be checked through the mobile phone, making it more convenient to charge. After completing the charging, you can also use the mobile phone to make quick payment and payment.

In terms of battery procurement, from this year, Volkswagen Group's domestic new energy vehicles will be equipped with batteries made by the Chinese supplier Ningde era.

It can be seen from the above that Volkswagen Group is actively promoting system reform, accelerating the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry through its own efforts, and making unremitting efforts to achieve the transformation of electric travel.
