AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/04 Report--

Geely holding Loutus has confirmed that the first all-electric supercar TYPE 130 has been officially named Evija, and earlier this year proposed to invest 9 billion yuan to open a new factory to reshape Tesla.

Lutes' life has gone through twists and turns. In 1986, Lutes was sold to General Motors, and in 1993, General Motors sold Lutes to A.C.B.N. Holdings S.An of Luxembourg for 30 million pounds. In the company, a majority stake in Lutes was sold to Malaysia's Proton in 1996, until Geely took a 51% stake in Lutes in 2017.

Reshape Lutes.

China Geely acquired a 51% stake in Lutes, officially gaining the right to operate it. Industry insiders said Geely will provide funds for Lutes to revive the sports car brand.

It is understood that Geely plans to open a new factory worth 9 billion yuan ($1.3 billion) in Wuhan to produce Lutes.

In addition, Geely will enter the ultra-luxury car market through Lutes, reshape its brand and compete directly with ultra-luxury brands such as Porsche and Ferrari, according to people familiar with the matter. On the one hand, it enriches Geely's product layout in the field of high-end cars, on the other hand, it will help Geely win more market share.

In addition to Lutes' sports cars, the first models of Lutes' Wuhan factory will also produce a luxury medium-sized SUV, which is based on Volvo's SPA architecture and is powered on the same platform as Volvo's XC60. But Lutes is still in charge of the training of the whole car and the design of the exterior and interior decoration.

The first electric sports car

As Loutus's first all-electric supercar, the TYPE 130 is officially named Evija. Lutes has given notice of the new car many times before.

The new car, jointly developed by Lutes and Williams Advanced Engineering, uses manual production with a limit of 130. the first batch of products will be delivered in 2020 or debuted in the UK on July 16, 2019.

In terms of appearance, the trailer diagram of this release shows some of the design details of the tail of Lutes TYPE130. The charging port of Lutes TYPE130 is in the center of the tail, and the tail adopts a concave design style.

As an all-electric supercar, its maximum power is expected to exceed that of 735kW (1000PS). More technology from F1 will give Lutes TYPE 130s excellent performance and is expected to be equipped with a dual-motor or multi-motor electric drive system to achieve four-wheel drive mode.

Phil Popham, chief executive of Lutes, said: "the Evija is the perfect name for our new car. It is Lutes' first supercar, our first electric car and the first new model under Geely management."

Moreover, the Evija is a different Lutes, but in any sense it is a real Lutes. This will reshape our brand on the global automotive stage and pave the way for more visionary models in the future.
