A Mr. Lu in Hefei spent more than 300,000 yuan on a Land Rover Discovery Shenxing in May 2017. But after driving for less than a year, the gearbox had the problem of oil leakage.
Mr. Lu said that at that time, the vehicle was sent to the 4S store for maintenance and testing, and the technical staff of the 4S store checked the software and passed the computer test, and found that there was no problem with the vehicle, so he wanted Mr. Lu to drive the car away. But when the vehicle was lifted, it was found that the whole part of the gearbox was leaking oil.
After that, 4S point gave Mr. Lu's plan to replace the gearbox assembly worth 120000 for free, and Mr. Lu also agreed. But in June of this year, there was another problem with the vehicle.
Mr. Lu said that in the usual driving process, there will be abnormal noise when the vehicle changes gears, and it is very obvious, and it will appear every time. So Mr. Lu had to send the vehicle to the 4S store again for maintenance and inspection.
Subsequently, the vehicle went through the maintenance inspection of the 4S store, and the reason was caused by the problem of the front transmission shaft. As the vehicle is still in the warranty period, Yongda and Jie 4S stores give Mr. Lu the same plan, that is, to replace the front actuator assembly for free again.
But Mr. Lu said that for the 4S store, it means that the vehicle is within the scope of three guarantees of service, and it is over to repair the vehicle for it again. In this regard, Mr. Lu disagreed, because the value of his newly purchased vehicle has been greatly reduced because it has replaced the main parts twice.
Moreover, the transmission will be replaced in the first year and the transmission shaft in the second year. I wonder if there will be any big problems in the third year. Therefore, we proposed to the 4S store to extend the guarantee of the whole vehicle for three years.
But for Mr. Lu's extension request, 4S store replied that because there is no precedent, Land Rover manufacturers also did not agree. When Mr. Lu asked to check the reporting records of the vehicle, the person in charge of the store refused on the grounds that the company information could not be disclosed.
At present, the after-sales director of Yongda and Jie 4S store said that the plan is to repair Mr. Lu's car first, and then apply for extension of protection with the manufacturer, but Mr. Lu does not disapprove of this plan.
Finally, in accordance with Mr. Lu's request, the after-sales supervisor applied to the manufacturer for extended insurance while repairing the car, and gave Mr. Lu a written reply within a week.
For this matter, many consumers have problems after buying cars. 4S stores should not always solve the problem as soon as possible, but give consumers a guarantee plan for whether there are problems in the future. For car companies, the quality of cars is the best protection for consumers.
