Yesterday, SAIC released its June production and sales KuaiBao: sales in June were 466500, down 15.97 per cent from a year earlier, while SAIC sold 2.9373 million vehicles in the first half of the year, down 16.62 per cent from a year earlier. Among them, SAIC GM Wuling sales fell 29.19% compared with the same period last year. SAIC-Volkswagen sold 919100 vehicles in the first half, down 9.94 per cent from a year earlier, while SAIC GM sold 834100 vehicles in the first half, down 12.91 per cent from a year earlier.

Of the 10 enterprises listed by KuaiBao, only two overseas subsidiaries of SAIC Zhengda Co., Ltd. and SAIC GM Wuling Motor Indonesia Co., Ltd. achieved year-on-year sales growth from January to June, while the remaining eight declined year-on-year. Among them, SAIC GM Wuling Motor Indonesia Co., Ltd. sold 7768 vehicles, a sharp increase of 191.81% over the same period last year.

Sales of SAIC-Volkswagen, SAIC-GM and SAIC-GM Wuling, the three major sales pillars of SAIC, have all declined for six consecutive months compared with the same period last year. According to KuaiBao, SAIC Volkswagen's cumulative sales fell 9.94% from January to June compared with the same period last year, and SAIC GM fell 12.91% from the same period last year, but SAIC GM Wuling fell sharply, down 29.19% from the same period last year.

SAIC's previous plan shows that in 2019, the group will strive to achieve full-year vehicle sales of 7.1 million vehicles, an increase of 0.6% over the same period last year, with an estimated operating income of 906.5 billion yuan and an operating cost of 777.5 billion yuan. Judging from the sales in the first half of the year, the plan for the whole year has just been completed by 41%.

For new energy, SAIC has further expanded its camp of new energy products, with cumulative sales reaching 68000 vehicles from January to May 2019, a year-on-year increase of 58.5%, which continues to be higher than the national average.

Earlier, Chen Zhixin, president of Shanghai Automobile Group Co., Ltd., said at the 2019 World New Energy vehicle Congress that new energy vehicles are entering a period of adjustment. In 2018, China's car sales grew negatively for the first time in 28 years. The decline in car sales this year has not been reversed.
