AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/05 Report--

According to relevant media reports, Lamborghini set a new record in the first half of 2019, delivering 4553 new cars worldwide, up 96% from the same period last year, nearly doubling and even exceeding the total sales for the whole of 2017.

In addition, cumulative sales in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao surpassed Japan in the first half of this year to become the second largest single market for Lamborghini.

In the first half of this year, Lamborghini sold a total of 1543 vehicles in the United States, which is still the largest single market in the world, a sharp increase of 128% over the same period last year. Sales in the Asia-Pacific region doubled in the first half of the year to 1184 units. Deliveries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa totaled 1826 units, up 67 per cent from a year earlier.

Of course, the biggest contributor is the SUV model Urus, which has sold an astonishing 2693 vehicles in half a year, which has exceeded the total sales of the brand in the same period last year. The new car was officially launched last year and has been on sale for less than a year, Lamborghini CEO said: 70 per cent of Urus buyers are buying Lamborghini cars for the first time.

In second place was the Mavericks Huracan, which sold 1221 vehicles, while Daniel Aventador ranked third, with 649 cars delivered to customers. However, Lamborghini's large and small calf sports car camp has fallen to 1860 this year, compared with 2327 in the first half of last year. There is no official explanation for this phenomenon.

Many outsiders speculate that both Lamborghini Aventador and Huracan are at the end of their life cycle, and Lamborghini is likely to implement their upgrades in the last two years, so some buyers who are after these two cars in the market are in a wait-and-see state.

For such a large growth in the first half of this year, Lamborghini Chairman and CEO Stefano Domenicali said Lamborghini has maintained a good momentum of development and has set a semi-annual sales record five times in a row. It also confirms the sustainability of the Lamborghini brand, products and business strategy.

As a result of Urus's success, Lamborghini is expected to further expand Urus's product line, and it is said that a hybrid version is already under development, and as a super-car brand, Urus will rely on hybrid systems for more power, not just for environmental protection. In addition, the Italian brand is expected to launch a fourth model, which is said to be a large GT sports car.
