AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/06 Report--

June was the last moment for Chinese car companies to clear their warehouses, with sales rising briefly and expected to achieve year-on-year growth after a 12-month decline in the car market. Japanese brands have a good momentum, and the sales of the four major automakers all increased in June.

Overall:

Honda sold 148382 vehicles, up 37.4% from the same period last year.

Toyota sold 140800 vehicles, up 18.5% from a year earlier.

In June, Honda overtook Toyota to win the first place in sales of Japanese brands and reached an all-time high in June, with terminal sales of 148382 vehicles, up 37.4% from a year earlier.

Specific to the two joint ventures, GAC Honda's terminal sales in June 2019 were 65340, up 6.6% from January to June, up 12.7% from January to June. Dongfeng Honda's terminal sales were 83042 in June 2019, up 77.9% from January to June, up 34.4% from January to June.

Honda's sales were depressed by the recall in the same period last year, and sales recovered significantly more than a year after the incident. In June, Honda sold more than 10, 000 of its six models, including more than 20, 000 CR-V and Civic.

Toyota ranked second in sales, with June sales up 18.5% from a year earlier to 140800 vehicles. Toyota has achieved continuous sales growth thanks to high sales of its main car Camry and premium brand Lexus, as well as the continued launch of new cars this year.

Among them, Lexus sold 18178 units in China in June, with cumulative sales of 93823 units from January to June, an increase of 36.5 per cent over the same period last year.

Nissan's sales did not increase significantly, and there was a slight decline in the previous six months. Nissan sold 131071 vehicles in China in June, up slightly from a year earlier, while Nissan's cumulative sales from January to June were 718268, down 0.3 per cent from a year earlier.

Sales of Mazda cars in China finally stopped falling in June after a 13-month decline. According to official figures, Mazda sold 19574 units in China in June 2019, up 1.4 per cent from the same period last year. Among them, FAW Mazda sold 7460 units that month, while Changan Mazda sold 12114 units.

The figures for the first half of the year continued to decline as sales continued to fall in the previous period. Mazda sold 106345 units in China from January to June, down 27% from 145842 in the same period last year.

Affected by the slowdown of economic growth, the trade friction between the United States and China, the implementation of the sixth national emission standards and other factors, the domestic car market is depressed, while some luxury brands and Japanese brands are growing against the market and continue to show different trends.
