According to foreign media reports, American electric car startup RIVIAN recruited more than 750 employees from Tesla and Ford, including a large number of employees from Jia Yueting's Faraday Future (FF). Data show that at least 50 FF members have moved to RIVIAN, most of whom have experience in battery and electric traditional systems.

According to the survey, this is not the first time that FF has made large-scale layoffs. News of FF layoffs began as early as October last year, which is believed to be partly due to recent tight chains in the company. Last December, Jia Yueting broke up peacefully with Xu Jiayin, resulting in a disconnection of funds from Evergrande.

On March 25 this year, FF and the ninth city announced that they had formally signed an agreement to establish a joint venture company. The ninth city plans to inject up to US $600 million (about 4 billion yuan) to focus on the research and development, production and sale of electric vehicles in China. The joint venture expects to have an annual output of 300000 vehicles, and plans to take off the production line and book sales within 2020.

Zhu Jun and Jia Yueting officially joined hands, and their "marriage" attracted a lot of attention. After all, the ninth city is a giant in China's gaming industry, and FF is the new owner of Internet car building. And after breaking up with Evergrande, whether FF can continue to move forward in the "timely help" of the ninth city has also become the focus of attention.

It is worth mentioning that not long ago, FF brought good news.

It is understood that in June this year, City 9 signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation with the Office of the leading Group for the Development of Shaerqin Industrial Zone in Hohhot Economic and technological Development Zone, and the two sides will carry out strategic cooperation on the settlement and development of the new energy vehicle joint venture company jointly established by FF and City 9 in Shaerqin Industrial Zone.

According to the memorandum, the Shaerqin Industrial Zone in Hohhot will reserve no less than 5000 mu of land for the joint venture project, and support the joint venture company to obtain the qualification for the production of new energy passenger vehicles. At the same time, the Ninth City and the Shaerqin Industrial Zone in Hohhot will jointly set up a new energy industry fund, with the ninth city and its subordinate enterprises contributing no less than 500 million yuan and the government contributing no less than 1.5 billion yuan. In addition, Hohhot Shaerqin Industrial Zone coordinates 4 billion of new energy project financing loans, recommending local industrial funds and banks to provide interest-free, discounted or low-interest loans.

In theory, today's FF is gradually getting on the right track. after all, it has not only found a new partner, but its cooperative project will also be located in Hohhot Economic and technological Development Zone, but why is such FF still exposed the news of "big layoffs"?

In fact, since the cancellation of the cooperation with Evergrande in October last year, FF has been in a financial difficulty and has to take measures such as salary cuts and suspension of pay to save costs.

According to Ferrari's chief financial officer, suppliers and partners owed more than $59 million by the end of September 2018, and so far the company has owed $160 million in wages, and future Ferrari executives have revealed that they need at least $50 million to put the luxury SUV FF91 on the ground. In search of money, FF also sold land in Nevada.

Cooperation with the ninth city seems to have opened up a way for FF, but now the ninth city is not as good as it used to be. according to the relevant data, the total profit of the ninth city in 2018 was 2 million, down 33.63% over the same period. It is understood that the above-mentioned memorandum is still in the intention stage, and it is still unknown whether a cooperative relationship can be reached.

I still remember that when I was working with Evergrande, Jia Yueting promised that the FF91 would achieve mass production in 2018 and start production of 100000 vehicles in 2019. FF, which has been exposed again and again for layoffs, now seems to be in danger. After all, building a car is a costly business, in the current new car-building enterprises, there is often a funding gap, and for the current FF, the lack of money is the biggest problem that has been restricting the growth of FF91. If this problem is not solved, Lao Jia's "heart meat" may be "difficult to give birth" again.
