AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/11 Report--

According to relevant statistics, the State Market Supervision and Administration (quality Supervision Bureau) issued a total of 85 car-related recalls in the first half of 2019, down 10.5 percent from 95 in the same period in 2018, including 14 "passive recalls." The total number of recalled vehicles was about 2.761 million, down about 44.9% from the first half of 2018, involving 43 car brands. Although there has been a sharp decline in the overall number of recalls in the first half of this year, the number of recalls is still higher than that in 2016, with an average of one recall every 2.1 days, which shows that the recall of problematic vehicles has become the norm for car companies.

It is worth mentioning that the number of car recalls announced in June this year was the least in 19 years. A total of four brands issued recall announcements involving 47091 vehicles recalled, a decrease of 95.75% compared with May. Among them, the most eye-catching was the Lulai car, which went on a hot search due to frequent spontaneous combustion in the first half of the year. At the end of June, it announced a recall of 4803 Lvlai ES8, becoming the first model to announce a recall among the new car-building forces in China. The recall of Xilai Motor is also among the 14 "passive recalls". Of the 84 recalls in the first half of 1919, joint venture brands accounted for 60.39%, down from the same period in 18 years.

The most prominent one is that German brands accounted for more than 60% of the total recalls in the first half of 2019, and remained high both in terms of the number of recalls and the total number of recalls. German brands recalled a total of 30 cases in the first half of this year, which was basically the same as that in the same period last year, but the total number of recalled vehicles increased by 1.2 times. The total number of recalled models was about 1.833 million, of which BMW and Mercedes-Benz accounted for the most. BMW ranks first among all brands with a total recall of 832379 vehicles.

Although the number of recalls of independent brands has increased greatly compared with the same period last year, the total number of recalls has decreased compared with the same period last year. In the first half of 1919, independent brands issued a total of 15 recall announcements, recalling a total of 2829,000 vehicles, including two new energy models. Among them, Cheetah became the independent brand with the largest number of recalled vehicles in the first half of 1919 with 147100 vehicles.

Judging from the reasons for the recall, although the "Takata airbag" incident is gradually coming to an end, compared with the previous recalls of several million vehicles, the number of vehicles recalled due to its hidden dangers still accounts for 24.3% of the total recalled vehicles, a total of 672000 vehicles, most of which are luxury brands and imported models.

The chassis suspension accounted for 22.02%, mainly the Mercedes-Benz brand, which topped the list of single recall models in the first half of 19 with 571500 vehicles due to defects in front shock absorbers.

With the increase in sales of major domestic new energy vehicle companies, the number of recalls of new energy vehicles has obviously increased, and frequent incidents of spontaneous combustion of new energy vehicles have also caused great panic among consumers about the safety of new energy vehicles. In the first half of 1919, there were eight recalls of new energy vehicles, recalling more than 30,000 new energy vehicles, an increase of nearly 60% compared with the same period in 18 years. Among them, the most remarkable one is the "passive recall" of 4803 Yulai ES8 models due to the heat out of control of the battery package and the hidden danger of fire, which is also the first model among the many new car-building forces in China to announce the recall.

Today, when the vehicle recall has become the norm, the active recall can be said to be the performance of the enterprise's responsibility for the products, but it is the best policy to carefully improve its own problems before the vehicle leaves the factory to avoid consumers losing confidence in the brand because of the recall incident. especially with the rapid development of the domestic new energy market, the safety of new energy vehicles is particularly important.
