Audi recently released sales figures for the first half of 2019, with global sales of about 166700 vehicles in June, up 1.7 per cent from the same period last year. As Audi's largest single market in the world, the Chinese market rose by 22.2%, setting a record for June sales. In the first half of this year, under the background of the overall market shock and the replacement of new and old products, the Audi brand grew by 2.1% compared with the same period last year.

Throughout the global market, Audi brand high-end flagship model Audi A8 strong demand, delivery volume increased by 53.2%. In the European market, Audi Q2, Audi Q5 and the new Audi Q3 increased by 46.2%, 32.1% and 51.0% respectively, reflecting that the Audi SUV lineup remains hot around the world.

The European market as a whole continued its previous decline, delivering 76050 new cars in June, down 3.4 per cent from a year earlier. So far this year, the European market has delivered about 419450 vehicles, down 4.5 per cent from a year earlier. In addition, the overall North American market remains sluggish, with total deliveries falling 8.6 per cent from January to June to about 123350, and monthly deliveries in June to about 23200, down 5.5 per cent.

In the US market, Audi managed to maintain record levels last June. The overall US market remains depressed, with Audi delivering 101440 vehicles in the US in the first half of this year, down 6.0 per cent from a year earlier. Total deliveries in North America fell 8.6 per cent to about 123350, while monthly deliveries fell 5.5 per cent to about 23200 in June. Among them, the Audi Q5 is the most popular Audi model in the United States, with demand growing by 42.7% in June alone.

Audi's brightest eye is the Chinese market, where delivery rose to 58877 vehicles in June, up 22.2% from a year earlier. Among them, Audi Q5 achieved the largest growth rate, with a growth rate of 64.8%. Audi A4L sold 14256 new cars in June, up 11.7 per cent from a year earlier, while SUV-- Audi Q2L, a city built specifically for the Chinese market, was a great success in the local market, up 32 per cent in June from a month earlier, while imported models sold 8700 vehicles in June, up 109.3 per cent from a year earlier.

Earlier, Martin sander, vice president of global marketing for Audi, said when analyzing the decline in Audi's sales in China that this was mainly due to the impact of the upgrading of the main models. In his view, "the replacement of models has had a negative impact on the business in the Chinese market, but with the completion of the upgrade, we expect Audi's delivery volume to increase significantly in the second half of the year."

Audi plans to launch more than 30 new energy models by 2025, including 20 pure electric models and 10 hybrid models. In terms of vehicle positioning, it will cover entry-level to luxury high-end models. Officials expect its new energy models to account for 40% of sales by 2025.
