AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/01 Report--
Mazda China has officially announced that it will challenge its full-year sales target of 270000 vehicles this year, roughly the same as last year. Mazda's cumulative sales in China in 2018 were 272322 vehicles, down 12% from a year earlier.
In terms of new cars, Mazda will also introduce a new SUV product this year, including a new generation of technology products equipped with SKYACTIV-X gasoline engines. In 2020, it will launch a new energy model in the Chinese market in cooperation with its joint venture partner Changan Automobile.
By contrast, Mazda's sales target is indeed regressing, while an analysis of Mazda's sales in China in recent months has seen a decline in sales for many months in a row, falling 33 per cent to 22000 vehicles in January. It will also be difficult for Mazda to achieve the seemingly conservative goal of 270000 vehicles.
'This achievement seems conservative, but we consider it from three aspects: FAW Mazda, Changan Mazda and Mazda users, 'said Yukihiko Watanabe, chairman of Mazda China.
In terms of sales channels, as of January this year, the number of Mazda 4S stores in China has reached 488, including 216 FAW Mazda and 258 Changan Mazda.
At present, FAW Mazda still has no new products on the market. In 2018, only two models, Atez and CX-4, struggled to support it. The annual sales volume was 108970, down 12.3% from the same period last year. Changan Mazda launched the CX-8 and CX-3 SUV, but it is still in a state of decline, with full-year sales of 163252 vehicles, down 11.8 per cent from a year earlier.
