According to relevant media reports, Volkswagen Group officially released sales figures for June and the first half of this year. Volkswagen sold about 974400 vehicles in June, up 1.6 per cent from a year earlier, and global sales fell 2.8 per cent to 5.3653 million in the first half of this year.

In the overall car market downward environment, Volkswagen, Skoda and Audi brands all showed negative sales growth in the first half of the year, Volkswagen brand sales fell 4%, Skoda fell nearly 5%, and Audi fell 4.5%. At the same time, Porsche achieved 2 per cent sales growth, with China continuing to maintain Porsche's largest single market in the world, with sales growing 28 per cent in the first half of this year. Sales in Seattle grew by 8.4%, while Mann and Scania both grew by 10%.

Volkswagen said: "the increase in sales in June was mainly due to the Chinese market, where sales rose 15 per cent in June." But throughout the first half of the year, the Chinese market as a whole still fell 3.9%.

From a single market perspective, in the Asia-Pacific region, Volkswagen sold 381400 vehicles in June, up 11.3 per cent from a year earlier, and cumulative delivery in the first half was 2.057 million, down 4.9 per cent from a year earlier. Of this total, the Chinese market, including Hong Kong, sold 354800 vehicles in June, up 15 per cent from a year earlier. The main reason is brought about by the destocking under the change of the "sixth National" policy. In the first half of this year, Volkswagen sold 1.916 million units in China, down 3.9 per cent from a year earlier. However, China is still Volkswagen's largest single market in the world, accounting for 35.7% of cumulative sales.

In Europe, the local region, Volkswagen sold 435000 vehicles in June, down 4.8 per cent from a year earlier, and accumulated sales of 2.3975 million vehicles in the first half, down 0.9 per cent from a year earlier. Among them, in the German market, Volkswagen sold 130700 vehicles in June, up 0.7 per cent from a year earlier.

In North America, Volkswagen's sales fell 0.5% in June to 80700 vehicles, and cumulative sales from January to June fell 1% to 460600. In the US market, Volkswagen sold 56700 vehicles in June, up 5.9 per cent from a year earlier, and accumulated sales of 318400 vehicles in the first half, up 2.1 per cent from a year earlier.
