At the beginning of its establishment, Xinte Automobile adopted the mode of "contract manufacturing + setting up a factory" for development. In 2018, the trial production workshop of Xinte Automobile in Guizhou was officially put into use, and in October of the same year, the first batch of DEV1 was put off the line in Changchun factory. In addition, Gui'an New area Development and Investment Company has invested 7 billion yuan in the construction of the whole industry chain of new energy vehicles, with a complete area of more than 1800 mu, which will be put into use in the final assembly workshop in 2018 and is expected to be fully put into use in 2019.

The new special new energy vehicle R & D trial project is located in the southern part of Gui'an New area High-end equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park, and the cooperation mode is a joint venture. The total investment of the project is about 100 million yuan, and the construction contents include new energy vehicle R & D office center, science and technology exhibition center and trial production workshop. At the beginning of 2018, the trial production workshop of Xinte Automobile in Guizhou was officially put into use.

However, according to the relevant news, the above trial production workshop is in a state of closed doors, and there is no sign of the Suntech car factory. According to people familiar with the matter, the workshop was suspended at the end of 2018, resulting in the shelving of the planned Suntech car plant, which has not changed hands and does not rule out the possibility of restarting the research and development of new models.

The reporter contacted the relevant responsible person about the reason for the suspension of the trial production workshop and the follow-up reporter. The responsible person said that the workshop is mainly used for the initial trial production of DEV1. At present, DEV1 trial production has been completed and put into production, and New Special Automobile has signed a contract with Changshou District of Chongqing, including the landing of the new trial production workshop.

According to the guidance of insiders, came to the new special automobile intelligent factory, but did not find the sign related to the new special automobile nearby, the personnel at the scene said that this factory is the Yangtze River automobile factory, has not heard of the related construction of the new special automobile in the vicinity.

Suncar also said frankly that the factory plan has been adjusted, and it is currently in the internal docking stage, which will be announced after it is confirmed.

According to previous public reports, Suntech plans to use the first Mazda production line for production, and when the new plant is officially put into production in the future, the company will transfer its production base to its own factory in Gui'an New area. With regard to the impact of factory plan adjustment on mass production, Suntech Automobile said that it will continue to choose the contract manufacturing mode before the completion of the plant, and that the current FAW plant capacity can meet the demand; with the exception of FAW, it does not rule out the possibility of cooperating with other car companies.

In May 2019, Xinte Automobile completed its round B investment, which was led by Chongqing Changshou District. Xinte Automobile signed a cooperation agreement with Changshou District, and will produce 120000 pure electric passenger vehicles annually in Changshou High-tech Zone.

Entering 2019, more and more new energy vehicles are offline, coupled with the impact of the decline of new energy vehicles, the competition in the car market is becoming increasingly fierce, in addition to dealing with the original planned plant is not put into use, the sales of new special cars are not as good as before.

According to the data, 721 vehicles were sold from January to May in 2019, while Gaishi Automotive Network data showed that it sold 980 vehicles from January to April.

Reviewing the development of Sintel, the first model of DEV 1 was released and 4000 vehicles were delivered on October 31, 2018, with an order of more than 44000. In terms of mass delivery, Sintet previously mentioned a target of 40,000 units in 2019.

In January 2019, the state subsidy fell back, and DEV 1 raised the price after the subsidy. Xinte Automobile believes that some areas will be affected by the policy, but in cities with high demand for electric vehicles, such as Henan and Shandong, the impact of price adjustment is small. And Xinte has improved vehicle quality, vehicle networking system upgrade and after-sales service guarantee on the basis of the original model.

Ren Wanfu, an auto analyst, mentioned that in 2018, the new special car models are mainly delivered to group customers, and individual customers do not deliver much. With regard to the sales performance of Xinte cars, it is a relatively common phenomenon in the industry, and many car companies often rush to sell goods at the end of the year in order to have a better subsidy policy. New special car sales may account for a large proportion, so order delivery is more concentrated, it is expected that the new special car needs time to digest the new policy, and then launch new models.
