AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/13 Report--

First-tier luxury brands compete fiercely, BMW won the top spot in sales in June and the first half of a single month, and showed an upward trend. Due to the overall downward impact of the automobile market, the sales volume of each luxury brand has been affected to varying degrees. With the three German giants publishing sales data one after another, let's take a look at this year's ranking of first-tier luxury brands.

After the June sales announcement, BMW won the monthly championship with an absolute advantage, not only in a single month but also in the first half of the year cumulatively far ahead of Mercedes-Benz and Audi.

In June 2019, BMW's China market grew by more than 20%, with sales reaching 61600 vehicles. It is understood that the main driving force for growth comes from the hot sale of X-series SUVs. BMW sold a total of 467,100 X models in the first half of 2019, while the X series accounted for more than 43% of BMW's global sales, up from 36% last year.

In the first half of this year, sales of the new BMW 5 Series and 3 Series families exceeded 75,000 units. BMW X3 sold 58,000 units and X1 sold more than 48,000 units. At the same time, the new BMW X5 sold 11,000 units in the first half of the year.

The frequent quality problems reported by Mercedes-Benz do not seem to have much impact on Mercedes-Benz sales. Mercedes-Benz experienced declines in major regions of the world, including Europe, Asia Pacific and North America, as well as declines in major countries Germany and the United States, while only China achieved year-on-year growth.

Mercedes SUV sales in the first half of this year were lower than their highs in the same period last year due to model changes, including 367,000 GLA, GLC, GLC Coupe, GLE, GLS and G-Class sales, down 13.3% year-on-year. Despite the sluggish SUV sales, one-third of Mercedes 'global sales in the first half of this year were SUV models.

Across the global market, Audi brand high-end flagship Audi A8 demand is strong, delivery volume increased by 53.2%. In the European market, Audi Q2, Audi Q5 and the new Audi Q3 models grew by 46.2%, 32.1% and 51.0% respectively, reflecting that Audi UV lineup remains hot worldwide.

Audi's brightest spot is in China, where deliveries rose to 58,877 vehicles in June, up 22.2% year-on-year. The Audi Q5 model achieved the largest increase, with a growth rate of 64.8%. Audi Q2L, an urban SUV built specifically for the Chinese market, was a success in the local market, with a 32% month-on-month increase in June, while imported models sold 8,700 units in June, up 109.3% year-on-year.

On the whole, BMW and Mercedes-Benz gap is not big, but Audi and the former two have obvious gap. However, from Mercedes-Benz in the second half of a number of new cars listed is also very much expected. Audi said that the new main model is affected by the upgrade, but with the completion of the upgrade, Audi delivery volume is expected to increase significantly in the second half of the year.
