According to the website, BMW recalled more than 832379 vehicles in the first half of the year, which not only exceeded BMW's sales in China in the first half, but also became the most recalled brand among German automakers. In addition, car brands, including Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, issued more than 30 recall announcements in the first half of the year, accounting for 1/3, and the total number of recalled vehicles exceeded 1.898 million, accounting for 68.7% of the total recalled vehicles, a 1.2-fold increase over the same period last year.

German brands far outnumber other car brands in the number of recalls and the number of recalls, accounting for almost 70 per cent of the 30 recalls of 1.833 million vehicles. By contrast, independent brands have issued 15 recalls, bringing the total number of recalls to 282869 vehicles, including two new energy vehicles. From the perspective of the recall problem, there are relatively many models involved in the braking problem, making Cheetah the independent brand with the largest number of recalls in the first half of 2019.

In contrast to the sales performance of luxury brands in China in the first half of the year, BMW delivered a total of 350070 new cars under the BMW and MINI brands from January to June, an increase of 16.8 per cent year-on-year. Beijing Mercedes-Benz sold 276274 vehicles in the first half of this year, up 13.8 per cent from a year earlier, according to the Federation of passengers.

From this point of view, while sales of German luxury cars such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW continue to rise in China, their product quality has not improved with the improvement of sales volume, but not only the number of recalls has increased significantly, Mercedes-Benz has continued to cause a lot of rights protection incidents, which do great harm to the brand.

As a luxury brand, the price is much higher than that of other models, and consumers hope to replace the good service and experience with high price. however, judging from the current data, luxury brands have not done so. on the contrary, it performs worse than other ordinary models.

As a luxury brand, compared with other models of the same level, the price is much higher, consumers want to use the high price to get higher quality service and experience. However, judging from the recall in the first half of this year, there is no doubt that luxury brands have failed to do so, even worse than ordinary models.
