In view of the domestic crown road, this medium-sized SUV is still very difficult to guess. Through search, Honda has registered a new trademark "PASSPORT" in China, and the medium-sized SUV to be launched by Guangzhou Auto Honda is expected to be Passport.

Honda Passport's main market is in the United States, and its new generation model, which was launched at its plant in Alabama late last year, is positioned as a medium-sized SUV, somewhere between the Honda CR-V and the Pilot.

The overall appearance of Passport is similar to that of CR-V, but pays more attention to cross-country style and performance. The overseas version is designed for 5 seats, and the large trunk has more storage space, which is specially prepared for outing and cross-country.

Referring to the overseas version of Passport, the length, width and height are 4839 × 1996 × 1819 (two-wheel drive) / 1830 (four-wheel drive) mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2819mm, which exceeds that of Honda Crown Road except wheelbase.

The new Honda Passport is equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine with a maximum power of 280hp and a maximum torque of 355Nm, matching a nine-speed automatic transmission. At the same time, the new car can also be equipped with i-VTM4 four-wheel drive system, which can transfer up to 70% of the power to the rear wheels and output 100% of the rear wheel power to the left or right rear wheels at the same time, making the new car more off-road.

If Honda confirms the introduction of the car for domestic use, the Passport is likely to be injected with more Chinese-specific elements to adapt to the domestic market, such as replacing a small-displacement turbocharged engine, which is expected to match Guandao's 1.5T or 2.0T powertrain. At the same time, Passport may add a third row of seats for the Chinese market to form a seven-seat layout, which can be different from Guandao and more in line with Honda's product layout in the Chinese market.
