According to domestic media reports, Ningde Times recently issued a performance forecast for the first half of 2019, which is expected to achieve a net profit of 2 billion-2.278 billion yuan in the first half, an increase of 120% and 150% over the same period last year. Its shares rose 2.02% on the day of its earnings forecast. After a fall in net profit in the first half of 2018, it returned to its 2017 level.

Ningde Times said that the main reasons for the increase in performance in the first half of 2019 compared with the same period last year are: (1) with the rapid development of the new energy vehicle industry, the market demand for power batteries has increased compared with the same period last year; (2) the company has strengthened market development and released production and sales capacity in the early stage, resulting in a corresponding increase in production and sales; and (3) the company continues to strengthen cost control and reduce the proportion of expenses to revenue.

The power battery industry is becoming more and more strong. In the first half of this year, Ningde era began to cooperate with Honda, Volvo, Toyota and other car companies. In addition, Ningde era also signed supporting supply agreements with Volkswagen, BMW and Daimler, and batteries are likely to be used in Ford mass-produced electric vehicles in the future. Under the signing of a number of supply agreements, Ningde era increased early investment. It has agreed to expand its investment in European production and R & D base projects.

And Ningde era basically reached cooperation at the equity level or business level with large "national team" automakers and private enterprises. On the one hand, it ensures the customer resources of the whole car factory, and cooperates to create a cost advantage; on the other hand, it also smells the uncontrollable battery demand and the risks in technological change in the future, and works with the whole vehicle factory to resist.

Zeng Yuqun, chairman of Ningde Times, predicts that by 2025, electric vehicles will basically be more economical than fuel vehicles, and the market drive will be very good. He firmly believes that full electrification will be basically realized by 2040.

If 2040 is still far away, at least in the past four years, car companies need to produce more new energy models in order to meet the assessment ratio of 14%, 16% and 18% in 2021-2023. Moreover, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz and other electric vehicles will enter the market in large quantities in 2020.
