Nissan sold 133900 cars in China in January, while Nissan's car sales fell 0.8 per cent in January from a year earlier, Bloomberg reported.

Nissan sold about 1.56 million new cars in China in 2018, up 2.9% from a year earlier and hitting an all-time high for six consecutive years, but still failed to meet its target of 1.6 million in 2018. On specific models, Xuanyi sold 463000 vehicles up 9.8% over the same period last year, Teana sold 117600 vehicles, Qijun accumulated 204597 vehicles, and Xiaoke accumulated 165703 vehicles.

In the past two years, China's car market has entered a cold winter. Domestic narrow-sense passenger car retail sales in 2018 were 22.35 million, down 5.8% from the same period last year, the first annual decline in more than 20 years. It is not expected that there will be a significant recovery this year. For this year's market performance, Dongfeng Nissan President Uchida said, "due to economic changes and other reasons, the situation remained stagnant in the first half of the year, but the government's measures to stimulate consumption in the second half of the year will have an effect." It is expected that it will get better. In view of this, the company still sets a sales target of 1.6 million vehicles in 2019 as it did in 2018.
