According to domestic media reports, the Ministry of Transport issued the Circular on issues related to the implementation of the Industry Standard for Toll Road vehicle Toll Model Classification, clearly requiring that from next year, highway tolls will be collected according to the new model classification standard, while ETC single card users, that is, ETC users without in-vehicle devices, will no longer enjoy preferential toll policies.

It is understood that in the new version of "Toll vehicle Classification of Toll Road vehicles" issued by the Ministry of Transport, all toll vehicles are specifically classified according to three major categories: passenger cars, trucks, and special operation vehicles, and the special operation vehicles that are not mainly carrying passengers and goods are classified as a separate category. The classification limit value of Class 1 and Class 2 passenger cars is revised from 7 passengers to 9 passengers, and all types of trucks pay tolls for vehicle classification according to the total axle number, length and maximum allowable total mass. The "notice" requires existing ETC users with changes in vehicle classification to carry out targeted services, replace ETC on-board devices or adjust vehicle classification by means of directional notification and booking installation.

Starting from January 1 next year, trucks and special operating vehicles will enable the electronic non-stop charging function. ETC single card users (ETC users without on-board devices) will no longer enjoy the basic preferential policy of vehicle tolls of not less than 5% in principle. Remember that the so-called ETC single card users refer to vehicles without electronic tags, and they still need to swipe their cards in and out every time they pass through the toll station. 8-seat and 9-seat minibuses with a length of less than 6 meters are charged tolls according to Class 1 passenger cars, and ETC devices are installed or replaced or models are adjusted.
