AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/22 Report--

Recently, Honda announced that the new hybrid version of its MPV model, the Ericsson, will go on sale in September, with minor adjustments to the appearance and power with the same 2.0L i-MMD hybrid system as the Odyssey.

As a medium-term revamped model, on the whole, the change of the new Ericsson is not so big, mainly a small adjustment to the front face. The middle grid style has been changed from the original chrome strip to the black panel design, while the three thin banner bars under the Honda LOGO have been changed to three long rectangular borders, and at the same time, a broken-line penetrating chrome strip has been added to the lower encirclement of the new Ericsson, making the whole front face more refined than the old one.

By contrast, the new Ericsson has changed very little in the tail. Only in the rear surrounding the two sides of the opening decoration added a C-shaped chromium plating strip for embellishment, the rest of the part has not changed.

The new Ericsson Shari hybrid version of the body dimensions are 4950/1842/1711mm, wheelbase is 2900mm, and the current fuel version is basically the same. Due to the addition of the battery pack, the Ericsson hybrid model will no longer provide spare tires.

On the power side, the Ericsson hybrid will use Honda's i-MMD hybrid system. The system is composed of 2.0L Atkinson cycle engine and i-MMD dual motor, and the comprehensive maximum power of the system is 158kW. In terms of transmission, an E-CVT transmission is matched with this hybrid system. The hybrid system has three modes: EV pure electric, hybrid and engine drive, and officials claim that its comprehensive fuel consumption of 100 kilometers is only 5.9L.

Since the Odyssey hybrid appeared on the market, it has achieved very good results, with sales rising every month. This time, the Eli Gentleman hybrid and the Odyssey are equipped with the same powertrain and the appearance is more fashionable. Its arrival should have an impact on competitors such as Odyssey and GL8. Of course, can the new Ericsson sell well when the market performance is not as good as the former? Let's wait and see!
