AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)07/25 Report--

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a recall report on Tuesday, saying that Nissan will recall the production and sale of 91319 Nissan Titan light gasoline-powered pick-up trucks between April 14, 2016 and October 8, 2018 due to safety problems such as short circuit and flameout of the alternator.

According to the recall report issued by NHTSA, Nissan recalled Titan because the alternator of the Titan pickup truck produced and sold during this period may have been damaged during installation. The specific reason for the damage is that during the installation of the engine, the generator wire may deviate from the normal installation line and come into contact with the edge of the metal bracket, causing the wire harness to be stuck on the metal bracket, thus wearing the wire.

If this happens, it may cause some problems in the use of the car, including abnormal electricity data, flickering lights on and off, the radio does not work properly, and so on. In more serious cases, the battery will not be recharged, causing the car to stall while driving. In extreme cases, it can even short-circuit the wires around the generator, causing the engine to overheat and cause the engine to catch fire.

In response, Nissan said it would recall all vehicles involved, and dealers would conduct a unified inspection of the recalled models to see if the generator wires were damaged and whether they were in a normal position. For models with damaged generator wires, dealers will replace them free of charge and correct the installation position of the wires, so as to eliminate safety risks.

In the United States, large pickups are still the most popular model in the United States, and according to the Detroit automakers' first-half sales results, Nissan's sales of pickup trucks in the United States suffered a huge decline this year, and the recall of Nissan's Titan pickup models is undoubtedly even worse for Nissan, which is expected to further decline Nissan's sales in the United States in the second half of the year.
