Tesla announced his second-quarter results on July 25, showing that Tesla earned $6.35 billion in revenue in the second quarter, up from $4 billion in the same period last year, but posted a net loss of $408 million (about RMB 2.8 billion). By comparison, the loss in the same period last year was $718 million, compared with a loss of $702 million in the first quarter.

At the same time, Tesla co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) J.B. Straubel also officially resigned from Tesla, after which J.B. Straubel will become Tesla's senior adviser. Straubel oversees the technical and engineering design of Tesla's vehicles, focusing on batteries, motors, power electronics and high-level software subsystems. He has more than 30 inventions, including Tesla's core battery management technology, core factory and automobile control system.

Obviously, the departure of Straubel is a great loss to Tesla. For many years, Straubel has been leading several important technology projects of Tesla, especially those related to batteries and power electronics.

In terms of delivery data, Tesla delivered 95356 electric vehicles and produced 87048 Tesla electric vehicles in the second quarter, surpassing the quarterly record of about 91000 deliveries and 86600 production in the fourth quarter of 2018. Among them, 72531 Model 3 vehicles were delivered in the quarter.

Tesla aims to deliver 36-400000 electric cars this year and turn losses into profits to this end.
