In July last year, the owner of a NIO car tested that the mileage of the ES8 was only 178km when it was fully charged with a uniform speed 120km/h. After that, the vice president of power engineering responded that the team's test results in the closed field showed that under the condition of setting a constant temperature air conditioner of 24 degrees Celsius, the ES8 kept the 120km/h driving at a constant speed of 226km. NIO blames the lack of mileage on "air resistance, energy consumption of air conditioners and high-performance induction motors", especially in winter, when the ES8's range is even lower.
