From the perspective of the three major French joint ventures, Dongfeng Renault sold less than 10,000 vehicles in the first half, falling 76.0 per cent to 8901; DPCA's cumulative sales also fell 60.1 per cent; and Changan PSA sold 1720 DS brands in the first half, down 15.9 per cent from the same period last year. Generally speaking, the four major French brands Peugeot, Citroen, Renault and DS are facing survival crisis.

French cars, which are popular in Europe and the United States, have failed in the Chinese market. Why is there such a scene? First of all, the introduction of new French cars is very few, the price is falsely high, and it has a lot to do with the overall lack of understanding of the car demand of the Chinese people. although it is a car company that is good at design, it is suspected of being anti-human in terms of its machinery and engineering design of the three major parts.

The decline in sales is just the tip of the iceberg. More and more dealers are withdrawing from the net, which is also a big worry for DPCG. From the first line to the third line, the number of dealer outlets is declining, and the cases of transfer, merger and even running away emerge in endlessly.

Rumors spread everywhere and were besieged on all sides. The brand strength of French cars has plummeted. Perhaps under the name of a joint venture car, it can temporarily distance itself from domestic cars, but it should know that it has already become a brand outside the third line of the joint venture.

In the face of declining performance, PSA and Renault frequently change players in China, but it is also difficult to reverse the decline, obviously, the product layout is the most fundamental problem of French cars.

It is reported that DPCA has been established through the strategic planning of the early new energy vehicle project, and will launch four new energy models, including three plug-in hybrid models of PHEV, namely Peugeot 508L PHEV (released), 4008 PHEV, Citroen Tianyi PHEV, and a pure electric model is expected to be Dongfeng Peugeot's first pure electric vehicle, eMI2008.

It is worth mentioning that DPCA has announced that it will adjust its marketing strategy in 2019 to improve its terminal network capability. First of all, DPCA needs to change the impression of "high pricing and high discount" of its products to consumers, and gradually achieve more accurate market positioning and pricing; at the same time, DPCA is also committed to solving the problem of inventory backlog among dealers and optimizing sales channels, including promoting the channel model of "dual-brand coordination", improving network management and enhancing user experience.

This month, Renault Group and Jiangling Group also announced the formal establishment of a joint venture. According to the plans of both sides, the joint venture company will launch a series of electric vehicles to support the development of Jiangling New Energy brand Yizhi.

In addition to the launch of Dongfeng Renault electric vehicles through Dongfeng Renault in the second half of this year, Renault Group has very little layout in China's new energy vehicle market, and its demand for the layout of China's new energy vehicle market is also very urgent.

In addition, Renault released 2020 Arkana pictures in July, as a sedan SUV,Arkana may not be a volume model, but because the domestic market segment is not rich, the 2020 Arkana is quite competitive and is expected to become a new breakthrough for Renault.

In the face of the increasingly complex competitive situation in China's automobile market, it will be eliminated if it does not change. Aware of this, DS unveiled an all-new model strategy in 2019, and DS launched a number of new energy models at the Shanghai auto show, which ended in April, which is seen as the highlight of its recovery plan.

One is a new energy version derived from the DS 3 CROSSBACK, and it is also DS's first all-electric model. Another plug-in hybrid car, the DS 7 CROSSBACK E-TENSE 4x4, which was first unveiled at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, bears an uncanny resemblance to the DS 7.

Of course, the current competition in the field of new energy vehicles is also very fierce, and the status of Tesla, BYD and other car companies can not be easily shaken.
