In this year's auto brand attractiveness rankings, Porsche beat 2018 champion Gaines to the top again with a high score of 891, while BMW and Gaines tied for second place with the same 868 points. Audi lagged behind the first two by a narrow margin of one point.

As can be seen from this year's survey data, luxury brands still dominate the list, with luxury brands occupying the top nine of the top 10 car brands, while Volkswagen brand Ram is the only one in the top 10 and only at the bottom of the top 10. But it is worth mentioning that the Ram brand rose 26 points from 825 points last year to a high score of 851 this year, successfully entering the first echelon of 850. it is the brand that has made the greatest progress since last year. Other brands with significant improvements over last year were Dodge, Jaguar, Land Rover, Audi and Jeep, with the Dow up 24 points, Jaguar up 16 points, Land Rover up 15 points, Audi and Jeep up 14 points.

Overall, the average attractiveness score of car brands this year was 823, up slightly from 820 last year, while 22 of the 32 brands surveyed scored higher than last year. Volkswagen's average score rose 4 points, while luxury car brands' average score rose 2 points, which is the fifth year that the overall attractiveness of new cars has increased. At the same time, the attractiveness score gap between Volkswagen brands and luxury brands has narrowed to an all-time low, with a difference of only 35 points between the two categories, indicating that Volkswagen brands have made a lot of progress in attractiveness in recent years.

Dave Sargent, vice president of global automotive at J.D. Power, said that while the score gap between Volkswagen and luxury brands is narrowing, luxury cars tend to be faster, more comfortable and more versatile, so they generally score higher than Volkswagen brands, and will continue to do so in the future.
