Today, SAIC GM Cadillac brand announced that it will launch a brand-new rear-drive luxury sedan, Cadillac CT5, in the fourth quarter, and announced the appearance of the official map for the first time. As Cadillac's second rear-drive sedan product under the brand-new naming rules, the brand-new CT5 is built on a brand-new generation of lightweight luxury rear-drive platform. For the first time, it is equipped with a brand-new generation of electronic architecture of General Motors. It perfectly integrates stunning breakthrough styling design, exquisite cockpit layout, excellent and precise driving experience and revolutionary new mobile interconnection experience, becoming a brand-new masterpiece in Cadillac layout mid-size luxury sedan market. It is understood that Cadillac CT5 is expected to make its public debut at the 2019 Chengdu Auto Show, which opens on September 5.

The new car inherits Cadillac's latest family style as a whole. The front face is large size shield-shaped air intake grille with bright headlight groups on both sides, and LED light source is inside; daytime running lights and headlights adopt split design, vertically embedded in the air intake on both sides of bumper, with recognition. And the new car still adopts double appearance design, among which the fashion version adopts "dot matrix" design, the interior is decorated with fine chrome, the lower grille is banner style; the sports version front grille is all diamond grid shape and adopts smoked black design.

The side lines of the new car body are dynamic, the windows of the fashion version are silver chrome decoration, and the sports version is blackened design; the rim shape is also different, the sports version is simpler and the multi-spoke design of the fashion version is more dense. The rear styling is layered, the inverted "L" taillights on both sides are novel in style, LED light source is integrated into the interior, and the visual effect is striking; the rectangular tail row with two sides is decorated with chrome to highlight the sporty feeling.

Interior, the new XT5 is equipped with the latest CUE system interface, 8.0-inch touch screen, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile phone connectivity. In addition, the new XT5 also meets the new standards of comfort, convenience and safety features, including front seat heating, automatic high beams, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, front collision warning, automatic braking system with pedestrian detection, safety warning seats and more.

The new car, based on an upgrade to Cadillac's lightweight rear drive/four-wheel drive platform, will be equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine or a 3.0-liter twin turbocharged engine. In terms of transmission system, the new car comes standard with a brand-new 10-speed manual self-contained gearbox.
