Electrek, a US auto media, commented on the matter, saying it fully understood why the car owners were angry. "they saw the value of their cars plummet overnight, not because Tesla introduced a new feature, but because the company suddenly decided to change its pricing structure almost without any explanation."

Electrek believes that although Tesla should strive to reduce the price of his electric vehicles, he should lower the price in a more structured way instead of suddenly making a large-scale price adjustment. In addition, Tesla should better explain the reasons for the price reduction, otherwise a sharp reduction in the price without any reason will only make the car owners who recently bought Tesla feel that they have been tricked into spending more.

However, Electrek also made it clear that he does not think these protests are correct, especially those who "pull banners", which will only affect other Tesla owners who have nothing to do with it.

The price of Tesla's entire range of models has been sharply adjusted in China, with a price reduction of up to 341100 yuan on Chinese mainland, while the price cut in Taiwan is "even more severe." According to Taiwanese media reports, Tesla's highest decline in Taiwan reached 46%. An electric car with an original price of more than 6 million New Taiwan dollars (about 1.3 million yuan) was almost halved to more than 3 million New Taiwan dollars (about 650000 yuan).

Like the mainland, Tesla's sudden sharp price reduction has also aroused the dissatisfaction of some Taiwan car owners. Taiwan media reported that at least 40 angry Tesla car owners gathered at the Tesla headquarters in Taiwan on the 3rd to protest because the price of the new car had dropped too much. It has greatly affected the market price of used cars. Assuming that the original owner's loan has not been repaid, the rest of the money may directly buy a new one, and the price directly "bubbles".

After announcing the price reduction, Tesla also offered a compensation plan for car owners who previously bought Tesla. Car owners who bought Tesla before the price reduction can buy Autopilot autopilot system or fully autopilot function at half price. Starting next month, older car owners will be able to upgrade to Autopilot autopilot for $2000 (original price: $4000) or an additional $3000 for fully autopilot (original price: $7000).

However, today, the media learned from a car owner who has ordered Tesla Model 3 that Tesla has put forward a new plan. The owner said that Tesla's official website updated the price of Model 3 to cancel the assistant driving gift, and for customers whose order date was before February 28 (inclusive) and did not mention the car, Tesla offered the following two solutions:

First, the order will keep the original price, and the original enhanced autopilot (EAP) will be upgraded to Autopiolot autopilot + full autopilot (AP+FSD) for free.

Option 2, order to enjoy the new official website price, autopilot (AP) or fully autopilot (FSD), need to choose separately according to the official website price.

There are usually discounts to varying degrees for car sales on the market, but this is mainly a terminal discount, while Tesla's sudden price reduction is an official price reduction, which is different from the general terminal market behavior, and Tesla has not explained it beforehand. There is no detailed explanation for the sudden price reduction, which leads to dissatisfaction and protection of rights of car owners.
