This evening, Tesla released sales figures for the first half of the year in China. China has become the second largest market for Tesla after the United States, with car sales in China totaling US $1.469 billion, an increase of 41.8 percent over the same period last year.

Although the overall wife's car sales in the Chinese market showed a downward trend this year, Tesla's sales in China continued to grow in the first half of the year, and Tesla's Shanghai factory was also built smoothly at an unconventional pace. It is understood that Tesla's car sales revenue in China in the first quarter of this year was 779 million US dollars, up 53.3 percent from 508 million US dollars in the same period last year. The second quarter was $690 million, up 30.9% from $527 million in the same period last year. The US market of Tesla's manufacturing and R & D center contributed US $5.809 billion in the first half of this year, followed by China, Norway and Finland, with US $1.469 billion, US $796 million and US $361 million, respectively.

In February this year, the import Tesla Model 3 officially began to be delivered in China. With the mass delivery of Model 3 in China, Tesla's sales this year are much better than last year. In the second quarter of this year, Tesla delivered about 95200 vehicles, a record high for the company and higher than the market estimate of 87749. Among them, the delivery volume of Model 3 was 77550, and that of Model S and Model X was 17650, both of which were higher than market expectations.

Judging from the urban distribution data of vehicles sold, the top 10 provinces / municipalities directly under the Central Government of Tesla in the first half of the year were Guangdong, Shanghai, Beijing, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, Hubei, Hunan and Shandong. Among the provinces with sales of more than 1,000, except Sichuan (ranked fifth), the other provinces are clustered with first-tier cities, including Shanghai and Beijing. On July 9 this year, Musk simply announced that Model X and Model S would not be updated in the future, and Tesla's position had already been made clear, and the focus of subsequent sales would be Model 3 and Model Y. It can be foreseen that with the mass production of domestic Tesla Model 3 and the completion of the construction of the Shanghai factory, Tesla's domestic sales will be even more fierce, and at that time the domestic new forces of new energy car building will also be under great pressure.
