Geely announced today that the group's total sales in January 2019 reached 158393 vehicles, an increase of about 2% year-on-year and a month-on-month increase of about 70%, a record high. Excluding overseas sales, Geely's total sales in China were 151388 vehicles, down about 2 per cent from the same period last year.

In terms of specific models, Geely sold 20, 000 of its two models, New Dihao, the main family car, sold 24072 in January and Geely Boyue sold 27503 in the same month.

Among the other models, Vision sedan 10750, Dihao GS 15481, Dihao GL 13747 and Vision SUV 10030.

Geely launched a series of young sports models last year. Five months after its launch, Colorado sold 12480 cars in January, and three months after it went on sale, it also sold 14627 cars in January.

In addition, 9022 new energy vehicles were sold in the month, with Dihao EV Borey GE PHEV and Burry GE gas-electric hybrid sales accounting for about 60 per cent of Geely's total new energy vehicle sales.

The Lecker brand sold 12588 vehicles in January, while the LK 01 did not hit 10,000 vehicles last year, falling back to 6182 in January, while the Lok 02's cross-border SUV performance was mediocre, with 2032 vehicles sold in January and 4374 cars in the Lecker 03.

Due to the decline in China's passenger car market and uncertainty in the market, Geely has set a sales target of only 1.51 million vehicles in 2019, an increase of less than 10, 000 vehicles over 2018. In January, Geely sales reached the group's full-year sales target of about 10.5%.

This year, Geely Jiaji MPV, FY11 sports coupe SUV and other new cars will be on the market, while Lecker will launch a number of new energy vehicles. However, with the implementation of the sixth national emission standard, Geely will also popularize its three-cylinder engine, and the new Boyue will also adopt the new 1.5T in-line three-cylinder engine.

In other businesses, it was exposed at the beginning of this year that Geely continued to launch global acquisition plans. Lotus Lutes, a British sports car brand controlled by Geely, will be domestically produced. As the largest shareholder of Daimler, Geely will also conduct in-depth cooperation with Daimler. Geely may surprise us this year in terms of details of cooperation with overseas brands.
