After Honda's sales hit a low ebb after the quality storm at the beginning of last year, sales have gradually rebounded in the second half of the year, thanks to the launch of the 10th-generation Accord and increased terminal discounts, and sales increased by 8.2% in January this year, but in February, Honda's sales in China fell slightly.
Honda's Chinese terminal sales in February were 75907, down 1.5 per cent from a year earlier. GAC Honda's terminal sales for the month were 40508, down 4.2 per cent from a year earlier, while Dongfeng Honda's February terminal sales were 35399, up 1.8 per cent from a year earlier.
Honda's terminal sales in China totaled 212390 vehicles from January to February 2019, up 4.5 per cent from a year earlier. Of this total, Guangzhou Auto Honda contributed 116300 vehicles, up 2.8 per cent from a year earlier, while Dongfeng Honda terminal sales totaled 96090 vehicles, up 6.6 per cent from a year earlier.
In terms of model sales, Accord and Civic sold more than 10,000 vehicles in February, of which Civic sold 11805, an increase of 22% over the same period last year, making it Honda's highest-selling model in China in February. In addition, Feido sold 9035 vehicles in February, up 27.5% from a year earlier, up 8704 vehicles from a year earlier, up 47.4% from a year earlier. The new Lingpai, which was replaced with a 1.0T three-cylinder engine, sold 7511 vehicles in February, up 13.2% from a year earlier.
