Recently, SAIC-Volkswagen insiders revealed that the company will launch three MEB electric cars, including Skoda VISION iV, Volkswagen ID ROOMZZ and Audi Q4 e-tron. The SAIC-Volkswagen MEB new energy plant, which will start construction last year, is expected to reach mass production by the end of 2020.

The VISION iV, Skoda's first electric car based on the MEB platform, was unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show as early as April this year. The new car is positioned as a cross-border four-door sedan, and its fine vertical lines of intake grille and crystal-cut LED headlights make Skoda VISION iV's front face have a sharp line beauty; long and narrow light strips run through the entire intake grille, coupled with exaggerated air chutes on both sides, it makes VISION iV feel full of science and technology. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with two motors on the front and rear axles with a maximum power of 228 kilowatts and a driving range of 500 kilometers.

Volkswagen ID ROOMZZ

Like Skoda VISION iV, Volkswagen ID ROOMZZ made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April, and the new car made its debut. Volkswagen ID ROOMZZ's front grille uses a closed design, through-type headlights and "self-glowing" Volkswagen LOGO, making it look full of technology. On the side of the body, the new car uses a slip-back style, which is very soft in the handling of the lines, the overall transition is smooth and smooth, and its diving waistline creates a kind of sports atmosphere for it. In terms of power, the Volkswagen ID ROOMZZ will be equipped with two intelligent motors to achieve kinetic energy recovery and four-wheel drive with an optimal scheme, with a driving range of 475km under NEDC conditions.

Audi Q4 e-tron

As the fifth electric car in Audi's new energy strategy, Audi Q4 e-tron has only made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Q4 e-tron is a good continuation of the design language of the e-tron series in appearance, with a new "e-tron" sign that can be lit under the wide octagonal intake grille, which is highly recognizable when lit at night; the five-sided cooling grooves under the matrix LED headlights on both sides make the front face of the new car feel full of three-dimensional. In terms of power, the Audi Q4 e-tron front and rear axles are each equipped with a motor. The front axle asynchronous motor can provide 75 kilowatts of power and 150 Nm of torque, while the rear axle synchronous motor can provide up to 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of peak torque; the comprehensive output power of the complete power system is 225 kilowatts and the driving mileage is 450 km.

It is understood that SAIC-Volkswagen MEB New Energy Plant is the first plant specially designed and built by Volkswagen Group in the world for the production of MEB electric vehicles. The plant officially started construction in October 2018 and will carry out pre-batch production of its MEB electric vehicles in November 2019, while FAW-Volkswagen's planned three new cars may be mass-produced by the end of 2020.
