AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/02 Report--

On August 1st, according to the requirements of the regulations on the Administration of defective Automobile products recall and the implementation methods of defective Automobile products recall regulations, Kia decided to recall some 2019 Optima cars produced from May 21, 2018 to May 29, 2019, a total of 11423 cars.

The reason for the recall is that a software error in the front collision warning system of the Kia Optima, including the automatic braking system, may cause the vehicle to ignore other vehicles that are at rest in front, without warning to the driver and not activating the automatic braking function when needed, which is a safety hazard.

In response, Kia said it would authorize dealers to recall the vehicles involved and repair the vehicle software to ensure that the automatic braking system can work properly to eliminate safety risks. Since May 30 this year, Kia has begun to apply software patches to its newly produced Optima models. For the vehicles that have been sold within the scope of the recall, Kia will notify the owner of the recall by email, and the manufacturer will repair the vehicle software free of charge.
