AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)03/05 Report--

Earlier, the network exposed a customs document, suspected that the customs department sealed the imported Tesla Model 3, withdrew all the inspection forms, and all vehicles were not allowed to be sold. The news was confirmed by the domestic media today.

According to the Caixin report, the Commodity Inspection Department of the General Administration of Customs issued a warning notice on March 1 that the customs at China's automobile import ports had suspended the release of Tesla Model 3, and that the customs would notify enterprises not to sell or use the vehicles that had been released.

The Department of Commodity Inspection said that during the inspection and supervision of imported cars, Shanghai Customs found that the marks of 1600 Tesla Model 3 cars in four batches were not compliant. The 1600 car brake fluid tanks have warning signs in English, but none of them are marked in Chinese. In addition, some vehicles do not have vehicle information nameplates, or the vehicle model and motor power marks are not in line with the reality.

Recently, Tesla was pushed to the forefront of the wind and waves, causing a sensation with the price reduction of all the models, followed by Chinese car owners' dissatisfaction with the collective pull of banners to safeguard their rights, while at the same time, Model 3, which just arrived at the port last month, was "detained" by the customs for problems such as non-compliant signs, and a large number of new cars failed to be delivered.

As soon as the news that Model 3 was "detained" by customs came out, prospective owners who had booked the car and did not mention it must be the most worried, but from the feedback from the owners before, the matter did not seem to be too serious.

A screenshot on the Internet showed that Tesla was suspected to have handed over the car to the commissioner, saying that the vehicle had indeed been "impounded" by customs, but that "there was no problem with the quality" and that the commissioner could not give an exact time when the car could be delivered, but not before the end of March at the latest.

The first batch of Tesla Model 3 arrived in Tianjin Port on February 12th, but did not expect that this batch of Model 3 would experience the turmoil as soon as they arrived in China, and the owners who had already got the car would also have a lot of worries. After mentioning the car to and from Weibo CEO@ on February 27th, he complained about the car's "small size", incompatibility between charging head and Model S, incorrect tire pressure alarm assembly, abnormal steering wheel and other problems.

At the same time, a screenshot of the chat of the first batch of owners of Tesla Model 3 also leaked out on the Internet. Some owners reported the problems existing in the new car, listing 19 "ailments" of the new car, including horn buttons, tire pressure monitoring, homelink failure, abnormal steering wheel noise, and reverse installation of rear tire pressure sensors.

For a long time, Tesla's shortcomings in automotive electronics have been frequently complained about, while some time ago, the US Consumer report no longer recommended Model 3. The magazine released a report on Tesla based on a survey of thousands of car owners, believing that there were deficiencies in its reliability, and most of these problems came from electronic devices, such as navigation, infotainment, screens, and so on.

The Model 3 is Tesla's volume model, and it is also the key for Tesla to turn losses into profits. For a long time last year, Tesla racked his brains to increase the output of Model 3. Finally, with the help of the "temporary tent production line", Tesla finally achieved the Model 3 production capacity target. However, for consumers, it would be nice to get the car early, but if there are quality or assembly problems with Model 3 under Tesla's rush. I believe this is what no one wants to see.
