German Volkswagen announced a bonus plan for its employees, with a bonus of 36000 yuan each. Volkswagen will pay about 100000 employees a collective wage agreement bonus of 4750 euros ($5400, 36000 yuan) for 2018, according to a newsletter sent to employees on Tuesday.

The year-end bonus was the highest since 2015, compared with 4100 euros (about 32000 yuan) in 2017.

The public takes it for granted that employees share the fruits of the company. Bernd Osterloh, chairman of the Volkswagen working Committee, said: "it is only fair that employees can share their success." The bonus includes Volkswagen passenger cars, commercial vehicles and part-time contract employees.

It is worth noting that the employees here refer to those directly belonging to Volkswagen, and it is not clear whether FAW-Volkswagen and SAIC-Volkswagen are also included.

According to the 2018 results released by Volkswagen Group, turnover reached 235.8 billion euros, an increase of 6.3 billion euros over the same period last year. Pre-tax profit for the year reached 15.6 billion euros, up 13.8% from 2017, while operating profit was 17.1 billion euros, the same as in 2017.

In terms of sales volume, Volkswagen Group's global sales volume in 2018 reached 10.834 million new cars, a slight increase of 0.9% over the same period last year, continuing to set a record for the group's annual sales, and once again won the top spot in global sales.

In the Chinese market, Volkswagen Group's cumulative sales reached 4207100 vehicles, accounting for 38.9% of Volkswagen Group's total global sales in 2018, and remains its largest single market. The Volkswagen brand sold 3.11 million vehicles in 2018, accounting for half of Volkswagen's global sales.
