According to relevant media reports, the Russian government has signed a special investment contract for Russia's Harvard Automobile Manufacturing Co., Ltd., a Russian subsidiary of Great Wall Motor. And plans to continue to invest more than 42 billion rubles (about 4.5 billion yuan) to expand local production.

In fact, in June this year, on the same day that Great Wall Automobile's first wholly-owned overseas manufacturing plant, the Great Wall Automobile Russian Tula Plant (hereinafter referred to as the "Tula Plant"), was officially completed and put into production, the China Great Wall Automobile Company, which opened and put into production in Tula, intends to sign a special investment contract with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Manturov, Russia's minister of industry and trade, also said: "they have submitted an application and the application is being processed. Given our requirements for the level of localization of investors' funds and technical processes, I do not rule out the possibility that they may become the first automaker to sign a new special investment contract."

As a result, the contract also means that Great Wall becomes the first Chinese car brand to sign a special investor contract with the Russian government, and the car company will then enjoy the same preferential policies in Russia as other foreign carmakers in Russia.

It is reported that the special investment contract is a platform tool for the Russian government to provide incentives to investors. Special investment contracts can provide tax and non-tax incentives for contracted enterprises, as well as convenience for national procurement projects. In the future, all industrial concessions and support policies provided by the Russian government to local automobile manufacturers in China will be realized through special investment contracts.

In addition, according to the Russian satellite news agency, Great Wall will start selling H9 and F7x products in Russia by the end of the third quarter of 2019, and is scheduled to start production in January-February.

Before the Russian Tula factory was officially completed and put into production, Great Wall launched the first "global car" Harvard F7, ushering in a new era of corporate globalization. As of the first half of the year, Great Wall had 27 new dealerships in Russia and sold 1180 Harvard-branded products in July. In order to further expand local production, Great Wall plans to put Harvard H9 / F7x products into production.

Harvard H9 was launched in China as early as 2014, and it is the first hardline SUV of its own brand priced above 200000 and taking the high-end route. The Harvard F7x is a brand new sedan SUV, which offers three versions of the car: the extreme wisdom game version, the extreme wisdom technology version and the extreme wisdom sports version, which can meet the needs of different consumers.

From the official commissioning of the Great Wall Tula plant to the signing of a special investment contract with the Russian government, Great Wall's business in the Russian market is gradually on the right track, and Great Wall will further develop in the Russian market in the future.
