Tesla responded to the incident on Tuesday, Tesla said: "this mistake is caused by misprinting of nameplates on some Model 3 vehicles. We have reached a rectification plan with the General Administration of Customs and are working closely to resume the vehicle clearance process as soon as possible. After the vehicles have passed the examination and approval, we will deliver them to customers as soon as possible, which will not affect the sales of Model 3 in China."

According to Tesla, the withholding of the Model 3 was caused by a misprinting of the nameplate, but a rectification plan has been reached with the General Administration of Customs, which means the new car will continue to be delivered soon.

Earlier, it was revealed that the suspected Tesla delivery commissioner responded that there was "no problem with the quality" of the vehicle, which would be delivered by the end of March at the latest.
