A few days ago, Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Automobile Products, and decided to recall some imported Lexus ES, UX, LS and LC vehicles manufactured between May 6,2019 and May 31,2019 from August 23,2019, totaling 4,715 vehicles.

Recall model:

(i) 3,635 imported Lexus vehicles produced from May 6 to May 31,2019;

(II) 892 imported Lexus UX 260h vehicles produced from May 6 to May 31,2019;

(III) 183 partially imported Lexus LS 500h vehicles produced from May 15 to May 31,2019;

(IV) Some imported Lexus LC 500h vehicles produced from May 17 to May 31,2019, totaling 5 units.

Reason for recall:

In the electronically controlled hydraulic braking system of some vehicles within the scope of this recall, the brush holder and brush clearance are too small due to the problem of the brush holder molding mold of the booster pump motor. When the booster pump works, the thermal expansion of the brush holder will cause the brush to be stuck, so that the booster pump motor cannot work normally, and the vehicle warning lamp will light up. In extreme cases, it will reduce the hydraulic multiplication effect, make the braking distance longer, and there are potential safety hazards.

Solution:

Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will inspect the brake booster pump of all subject vehicles and replace the brake booster pump assembly with qualified brake booster pump assembly for vehicles equipped with defective parts free of charge to eliminate defects.
