Last year, sales of the Mercedes-Benz + Smart brand in China rose 11% year-on-year to 653000 vehicles, breaking the 650000 mark for the first time. Mercedes-Benz made a good start in 2019. In January this year, Mercedes-Benz and smart brand new car delivery volume of 72838, of which Mercedes-Benz brand sales exceeded 70, 000 for the first time, an increase of nearly 5% compared with the same period last year. Among them, A-class cars, C-class cars, E-class cars and S-class cars account for half of the total sales.

Mercedes-Benz sold more than 70, 000 vehicles a month in China for the first time, which made it surpass its old rival Audi in January. Audi sold 64000 vehicles in China in January, up 5.1% from a year earlier, setting Audi's best sales record in China in January.

In terms of products, domestic Mercedes-Benz models accounted for more than 70% of sales in January, of which the new long-wheelbase A-class, C-class, E-class and S-class flagship cars accounted for more than 50% of sales, and the SUV camp represented by GLA, long-wheelbase GLC, GLE, GLS and so on accounted for more than 1/3.

In terms of new cars, this year will be the "year of SUV" of Mercedes-Benz. According to its plan, Mercedes-Benz will launch more than 15 models, including the new GLS, the new GLE, the new GLC L, the new GLA, the EQC and other 10 SUV. Among them, the EQC, the first pure electric model of the Mercedes-Benz brand, will be officially listed in China at the end of this year, when it becomes the first domestic medium-sized pure electric SUV in the German BBA.

Beijing Mercedes-Benz has set a sales target of 560000 vehicles in 2019, coupled with nearly 200000 imported Mercedes-Benz cars, Mercedes-Benz is expected to sell more than 730000 vehicles in China this year.
