According to an announcement issued by the State Administration of Market Supervision today, Dongfeng Honda filed the recall plan in accordance with the requirements of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products and the measures for the implementation of the regulations on the recall of defective Automobile products. It is decided to recall some 2019 INSPIRE vehicles produced between March 8, 2018 and August 8, 2019, with a total of 29297 vehicles, starting from August 30, 2019.

In the cause of the recall, Dongfeng Honda said that due to the air velocity design at the exit of the engine intercooler, a small amount of condensed water may gather at the outlet of the intercooler when the vehicle is driving in a high temperature and humidity environment such as heavy rain. in this case, during rapid acceleration, condensate droplets are sucked into the combustion chamber, resulting in engine misfire, which in extreme cases may cause the engine to enter protection mode. As a result, the acceleration of the vehicle is limited while driving, and there are hidden dangers in safety. In view of this situation, the solution given by GAC Honda is to install a device that optimizes the air velocity at the outlet of the intercooler for the recalled vehicles free of charge, so as to eliminate safety risks. For the same reason as the Honda Accord recall.

Relevant emergency measures: before vehicle recall and maintenance, users should drive carefully when driving in heavy rain, pull over in time when vehicle acceleration is limited, and the engine protection mode will be removed after flameout and restart of the vehicle. The vehicle can be restored to normal use. Users should make an appointment with the store for maintenance as soon as possible after the start of the recall.
