AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/10 Report--
Recently, Volvo released its July sales report, which showed that Volvo's monthly sales in China reached 12639 vehicles in July, up 24.9% from a year earlier.
According to the latest sales figures, in July this year, Volvo's cumulative global sales reached 54000 vehicles, an increase of 7.1% over the same period last year. Among them, the European market accounted for 46.78% of Volvo's global sales, which made a great contribution to Volvo's sales improvement. The Chinese market sold 12600 vehicles, up 24.9% from July last year, making it the region with the biggest year-on-year increase in Volvo's global sales. From January to July this year, Volvo's cumulative sales in China reached 80400, up 12.3 per cent from a year earlier, while its global cumulative sales reached 395000, up 7.3 per cent from a year earlier.
Volvo's sales growth in China has been driven by strong demand for S90, XC60 and XC90. In July, sales of the S90 in China reached 3684, up 61 per cent from a year earlier. The TX XC60 sold 4891 vehicles, up 22 per cent from a year earlier, while XC90 sold 1495 vehicles, up 14 per cent from a year earlier. The big sale of its popular models prompted Volvo's sales in China to continue to grow in July.
According to Volvo's first-half financial data, Volvo's revenue reached 95.6 billion yuan in the first half of this year, up 5.9 per cent from a year earlier. The company said it will continue to increase its domestic market in the second half of the year, launching four new cars one after another to enrich its product camp, while from 2019, all its models on the market will launch electric versions to provide consumers with more choices.
In fact, it is not just Volvo that is growing. Sales of luxury brands as a whole rose in the first half of this year, which partly reflects the upgrading of consumption in the Chinese car market. With the continuous improvement of Volvo's product camp in the second half of the year, the rising trend of Volvo sales is expected to continue.
