It is worth noting that another product similar to the Weima EX5 520 also has a range of 520km, that is the new Xiaopeng G3.

In fact, there is little difference between the two models, both with ternary lithium batteries, and both can reach 520 kilometers in terms of mileage, but Weima's battery is larger than Xiaopeng's, but takes a little longer to recharge.

Although the battery life of the two models is similar, but the way to achieve it is different.

Weima EX5 uses a new generation of high-energy specific cell module, its battery package constant temperature thermal management system, with an independent water cooling device at the bottom of the cell module to keep the battery temperature in the best range, and can improve the available battery capacity and charge and discharge efficiency in winter to ensure higher battery performance.

Xiaopeng G3 is different, it uses a new generation of square ternary lithium battery in Ningde era, the battery energy density reaches 180wh/kg, coupled with the improvement of battery capacity, the battery life capacity of G3 increases from 351km to 520km.

In the end, the two sides competed in terms of battery life, but Weimar was "panicked" when it launched the EX5.

The reason is that more than half a year after the launch of the 2019 G3, the 2020 G3520 long-lasting version was launched. The owners of the 2019 G3 thought that their rights and interests had been infringed, and they were dissatisfied with the fact that their new car was eliminated only three or four months after it was opened. so they protect their rights in Guangzhou, Beijing and other places.

Plan B is that the old owners of the 2019 G3 can enjoy a 40% discount for repurchase of Xiaopeng cars for three years.

However, it is understood that Xiaopeng's plan set a lot of boundaries, resulting in some car owners can not accept Xiaopeng's solution, still asked to return the car, the rights incident is still continuing.

As a result of this incident, Weimar was hesitant to release the Weima EX5 520, which was mainly afraid of following in the footsteps of Xiaopeng. To this end, in order to allay users' doubts about buying cars, Weima launched the "Weima Care" program to guarantee the quality of power batteries.

From this cause, it is not difficult to see that Xiaopeng's rights protection incident has indeed played a warning role to the entire new energy vehicle market. Weima Automobile's "Weima Care" service, on the one hand, is a kind of snooping to accumulate user trust and product iteration, on the other hand, it is to maintain the brand image and avoid following in the footsteps.
