Audi recently released global sales figures for July, showing cumulative global sales of 155350 vehicles in July, down 6.1 per cent from the same period last year. Audi sold 1061550 vehicles in the first seven months of this year, down 4.8 per cent from a year earlier. Among them, the sales of A8L rose 21.2%. The sales of A4L increased 3.7% over the same period last year, making it the best-selling high-end car in the first half of the year.
China is Audi's most important single market in the world, with 56365 Audi models delivered to the Chinese market in July, up 6% from a year earlier, setting a new July sales record. In terms of specific products, sales of Audi's flagship model A8L rose 21.2%; Audi A4L sales increased 3.7% compared with the same period last year. In addition, Audi A4L sold nearly 100000 vehicles from January to July this year, making it the best-selling high-end car.
Judging from the performance of other markets around the world, Audi's cumulative sales in its home European market in July were 68750, down 13.3 per cent from a year earlier. Audi's cumulative sales in Europe in the first seven months of this year were 488250, down 5.9 per cent from a year earlier. In the US market, Audi sold 19370 vehicles in July, up 0.8 per cent from a year earlier. However, Audi's US sales fell 5 per cent to 120810 vehicles from January to July compared with the same period a year earlier, affected by the upgrade of Audi Q3.
With regard to the decline in global sales, Audi Automotive Marketing and sales Director Hildegard Wortmann said that due to the implementation of global light vehicle test procedures, the inventory of models was sold out last year, which significantly increased sales in the same period, especially in Europe. "at present, Audi has returned to the normal level, and sales are expected to show positive performance in the second half of the year."
In addition, with advance preparation and ongoing model planning for the second phase of the global light vehicle test code, Audi has now returned to normal and we expect sales to be positive in the second half of the year. " The company will launch more models in the second half of the year, new cars such as e-tron and Q8 will be launched one after another, and brand-new A6 allroad and new A6 Avant will also be unveiled one after another.
