AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)08/15 Report--
The China Insurance Automobile Safety Index (C-IASI), a subsidiary of PICC Research, released the results of the first batch of collision tests on some models in 2019, of which Beijing Hyundai Festa has a rating of M (average) in the "in-car occupant Safety Index" project.
In all collision tests, the safety of the car body is mainly measured by the "occupant safety index", including four tests: front 25% offset collision, side collision, roof strength and seat / headrest (i.e. whiplash injury test).
In the end, Festa has an overall rating of M (general) in the project, with 64km/h 's 25% offset collision and 50km/h 's side collision rating M (general). In the 25% offset collision, the bend of the A-column is shocking, almost 90 degrees.
The vehicle collided with 25% bias at the speed of 64km/h per hour, the Festa nose collapsed slightly, the upper part of the A-column was bent, the side beam between the AB columns was also out of position, and the front structure of the cockpit was obviously deformed. It can be seen clearly from the video that the cockpit space is occupied due to the large collapse and deformation of the front, which is a certain threat to the driver.
The evaluation result of China Baoyan is M (general), the amount of invasion in the upper part of the passenger cabin, the legs and feet injured by dummies, excessive tilt and unstable seats are the main points of loss. From this, it can be speculated that the structural strength of the vehicle may be unreasonable.
In view of Festa's performance in the 25% offset collision, industry insiders believe that: "the forward extension longitudinal beam and the water tank frame crossbeam did not have enough pull support and backward collapse superimposed energy absorption deformation, but slipped and bent toward the middle of the car body. The shape of the impact body bypassed the front main deformation buffer zone and directly rushed to the front of the tire and A-pillar, directly causing the leg space to be squeezed and collapsed. The upper side beam in the middle of the AB column bends to compress the upper body space of the cab, and the deformation of the front door is stuck. The front bar is short and weak, and the transverse support strength is weak. "
In the side collision, the final result of Festa is not ideal, whether it is to protect the driver or the occupant. In addition to being related to the structure of the vehicle, the low-equipped model only has front and side airbags, and the lack of airbags can easily lead to injuries in the collision.
Festa overall collision project rating:
Crashworthiness and maintenance economy: P (poor)
Occupant Safety Index: M (General)
-25% offset collision on the front: M
-side collision: M
-Roof strength: G
-seat / headrest: G
Safety of outsiders: a (good)
Vehicle Auxiliary Safety: G (excellent)
Beijing Hyundai Festa is a Chinese special model, launched in October last year, positioning compact sedan, based on the existing lead platform, equipped with 1.4T and 1.6T (low / high power) three engine, the price range of the five models is 11.98-154800 yuan. By the end of July 2019, the cumulative sales of Hyundai Festa in Beijing has been 72216, with an average monthly sales of 7,000 to 8,000.
From C-NCAP to C-IASI, Festa's collision results have not been ideal. In C-NCAP, Festa only won the four-star evaluation, with a comprehensive score of 72.3%. However, it is even worse under C-IASI, especially the bending degree of the A-pillar under the 25% offset collision.
Among the 28 models tested by C-IASI so far, many Chinese-made models, whether independent or joint venture, cannot stand the test. Once they are all revealed on the battlefield, not only the configuration is missing, but there are also some differences in structural strength, which is really unpredictable.
